Testing Interface Design
This is the interface we tested from another group. It was A3 size, so we couldn't all use it at once. We didn't understand the zig zags, we didn't get to finish it in time because there weren't any pins in it. The scale was also too small. If there would have been pins in it then it would've have been easier to understand. Also, no place to put meter readings in.
This is how our interface looked after another group tested it. They didn't understand the second column and the ones who didn't have meter readings thought they weren't able to use it. One person was confused about the third column, as he didn't record his data in terms of activities, but in terms of appliances he used.
These three are other examples of interfaces in our class. Comparing them with our work, the thing we didn't consider was allowing greater control for the user. Some people thought they couldn't use ours probably because they felt very restricted. Our design was linear, the user would go though it in stages. However with other examples, that is not necessery.
