This is a genius & simple idea of gathering and displaying data. First of all, it does both at the same time. Second, it's very engaging and fun. It is also very clear. The only disadvantage is that people are influenced by what they are seeing. You can see that 8 is the most common score and it draws attention to itself. However it's still brilliant. I will use this to create my own system of gathering & displaying data in a similar way.
Spekulation Mit Nahrungsmitteln by 10hoch16, for Oxfam, Berlin, Germany.

One minute advert against food speculation. Bowl of food with founds of familes eating turns into dots/pixels on a chart that is rising, then changes into a heart monitor and it stops. It's a powerful message conveyed quickly to the audience: "Hunger affects about 1 billion people around the world, and as the economic crisis continues, the push for growth can actually make matters worse."

This gave me an idea: instead of computerised effects, actually composing a graph out of bowls/things.
MY QUESTIONNAIRE
Browser Based >
I am pretty satisfied with the results of this questionnaire. It was straightforward, easy to understand. I think it worked. Although it doesn't stop people from taking more than one sweet. A way to solve that would be to put the sweets in a closed container, hand out some kind of tokens which allow to take only one. Another disadvatage to this is that the amought of votes is predetermined, so if there are 30 sweets in each, and more than 30 people from the 60 I ask do recycle, then it doesn't work. It only shows which one is more famourable, not the actual results. However, it's still a fun and engaging way to collect data, as well as display it at the same time. Also, the last disadvantage could be solved by only asking 30 people.
This relates to Structuralist and Post-Structuralist Authorship because in this interface, the audience interact - they are not passive. I, as the author, am not creating meaning to this design work. Without the participants of my questionnaire, it is just two pints of sweets. The fact that the participants take the sweets, theoretically in the fashion I have asked them to, the meaning is given to it.
